July 2011 – Michael Lea

Hello from Texcoco, Mexico! The verse above is a great warning for us today. Will we continue on toward the promised land or will we stagnate for forty years in the desert? I am happy to say that the mission here in Texcoco is headed forward.

This past month has been taken up in the building project that the mission is currently finishing up. The members of the mission were united in this, and each and every member has put time, money, and sweat into this project. They have not needed to ask for donations from anyone to build this building, and they have done the work themselves. Praise the Lord! I have not been able to help for the last two weeks since I hurt my back lifting an air compressor. I am doing better now and able to do light work, but no heavy lifting, so I have not been able to help much in the finishing up of this project. The Lord really wants them to do this themselves. I am glad to see that they are taking the ball and running with it! They are finishing up minor details, and we will be having sevices there shortly.

As far as the spiritual work, it has been a challenge for everyone to keep up while putting so much time into the building, but what a blessing it is to see that they do not want to let down in this area either. We had a professional clown come to teach face painting for the children’s ministry, which was a great success. The discipleship ministry continues to grow slowly with Juan discipling two new families who have also been coming to services. Many people have finished Bible studies this past month, and many diplomas were handed out.

Thank you for your prayers and kind support which make all this possible. We appreciate that you are co-laborers with us. May God bless you!

In Christ,
Michael Lea and family
